Minor Characters

Minor characters may not get the star billing, but they still play a crucial role in stories. They essentially have three responsibilities:

  1. They help provide or demonstrate more about the major characters, like the protagonist or antagonist.
  2. They help move or advance the story forward.
  3. Minor characters help set the tone for the scenes in which they appear. The major characters need the supporting cast, the minor characters, to play off of which may create a funny, serious, or sad situation.
