I love stories about portals into another world. Lots of writers have used this device. C. S. Lewis used a wardrobe, J. M. Barrie used a star, Lewis Carroll used a rabbit hole, Ursula LeGuin’s characters travel through “tessering” in A Wrinkle in Time, a puppeteer discovers a portal into the brain of actor John Malkovich in Being John Malkovich, the closet door of a kid in England is a time portal in Time Bandits. Clearly, the possibilities are endless when it comes to writing about portals and/or time travel.
