Use the Wislawa Szymborska poem, Under One Small Star, to generate some ideas of your own. In his poem, Szymborska apologizes for many different actions done to many different beings. He uses the poem to account for all of his flaws and slights against others. You can do this, or write an apology to one person about one or more things that you have done to slight them. You could also write an apology to something more abstract, such as to history, or to the environment. If you do this, try to ground your poem by using specific images and examples of what you are apologizing for throughout.
