A character’s actions can be revealed in both the big things she does, like suddenly singing her go-to tune from tenth grade when her daughter’s date picks her up for a homecoming dance. Small actions can reveal something about a character too, like when she intentionally drops a $20 bill in front of a table at Starbucks where a sad-looking person sits a table. Think about other ways characters respond in social situations. If you think your character should be brash and overly confident, how are you going to show that in the story? If another character is more of an introvert and doesn’t like being confrontational, what kind of situation can highlight this character’s actions?
