Foundations in Academic Writing: Grades 9-College



Students who have a strong foundation in academic writing are set up for success in both high school and college. Rather than waiting until college to learn the basics, this engaging and intellectually stimulating course offers young adults the ability to get ahead by developing that skillset now.Topics include an introduction to common writing styles (i.e. annotated bibliographies, literature reviews, and essays), APA source citation, strategies for gathering and organizing research, and a guide for structuring the writing process. By encouraging interaction with peers and offering fun opportunities for hands-on practice, this course produces writers who are prepared for success.
