#74 Poetry Prompt: Blackout Copy

Create an erasure poem, a deceptively cool and fascinating poetic form. First, select a page of text from a magazine, newspaper, or a terrible book in your home that will never be read by human eyes again. Then, take a pencil and circle the words in the text that will comprise your poem and draw a line through all the words you want to exclude. Take a thick black marker and color over the words you had drawn a line through, leaving the circled words untouched.
