#5 Drama Prompt: The Disagreement Copy

Prompt: When writing for theater, dialogue carries the day. For this initial draft, focus first and foremost on how the characters speak and interact with one another. Don’t worry too much (yet) about providing too much information about the exposition—like the setting or background of the characters. There should be some kind of disagreement between your characters about something that happened, something that was said, or how to do something. As the writer, you get to decide whether to play this scene for laughs, fear, tears, wonder, curiosity…In other words, remember to create some kind of emotional connection with your audience.
